red light therapy

Like a multivitamin supplement, multiple LED Light Therapy bed wavelengths  stimulate key cellular reactions that improve the health, energy and function of cells. When focusing on cellular health, you can reduce inflammation, as well as improve circulation, immune and cognitive function.

Pairs well with whole body detox, ear seeds, dry salt therapy and Somadome.

Benefits of Red Light Therapy

Over 5,000 studies suggest that light heals. Like a multivitamin, full body LED light therapy beds stimulate key cellular reactions that improve the health, energy and function of cells.  These studies suggest the benefits of light as a supplement include reduced inflammation, detoxification of waste and free radicals, improved circulation, and improved energy.

When focusing on cellular health, you can reduce inflammation, as well as improve circulation, immune and cognitive function.

It’s so powerful, various studies have shown that…

– veterans with PTSD find improvement
– Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease sufferers improve to the point where they can again speak, recall and comprehend.
– And those with autoimmune disorders have been able to heal.

People are reporting that their allergies are releasing, their sleep is improved and their energy is better.

Immune Support

This category of benefit is too broad to begin to touch in a few short words.  Generally speaking people are finding reductions in pain and inflammation from conditions like arthritis, neuropathy, injury, surgery and even neurological issues.  People are reporting that their allergies are releasing, their sleep is improved and their energy is better.

Healthy Skin

Photobomiodulation is a popular skincare and anti-aging technique used by some of the best estheticians and dermatologists in the world. Red light therapy reduces inflammation by increasing blood flow and circulation to damaged tissues. Collagen thickening of 138-211% is reported in studies suggesting that photobiomodulation may improve skin-tone for some and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Green is a very powerful surface energy that may be effective for bacterial and viral conditions and it has been shown in studies to actually outperform red/NIR for wound healing.

Cognitive Function

PBM has been shown in research to be extraordinary for helping people with brain injuries or in cognitive decline by improving circulation, nerve function and mitochondrial function in the brain. Numerous reports of veterans with PTSD have been reported as well as cases where Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease sufferers improving to the point where they can again speak, recall and comprehend.

What to Expect

Mitochondra booster. Cell health. Balances our circadian rhythm. Our photobiomodulation bed looks similar to a tanning bed, but don’t worry, only beneficial rays are coming out of here! Our bed uses infrared, red light, and green light to help your cells produce more energy and can even tackle skin issues like scarring and hyperpigmentation. In this 10 minute service, you’ll lay back, relax, and enjoy the benefits of light therapy!

Maximize Results

Preparing for Your Session
You can disrobe to your level of comfort, however light cannot penetrate clothing so it is optimal for no clothing to be worn. You will lie on the bed face up for the duration of the session. Goggles are provided to reduce brightness during your session and are must be worn at all times.

Recommended Frequency
In order to see the benefits, it’s important to get your “dose” twice a week. It’s a quick service, only 10 minutes, so it fits into a busy lifestyle. When it comes to photobiomodulation, more is not necessarily better. We recommend doing red light on different days than the infrared sauna.

After Your Session
A small percentage of people experience something called a Hertzheimer reaction, which is when the body detoxifies way too fast. This can result in flu like symptoms the next day after a PBM session. For some people, this happens after the first session and for others it may happen after a few treatments.

In general, we just recommend that you stay hydrated after you session.

Considerations

Proceed with caution if you’re on any medication, especially for…

thyroid conditions – be sure to keep an eye on your mood and your thyroid function because PBM has been shown to help heal the thyroid, so it is easy to overmedicate.

diabetes – monitor your blood sugar after your session

Do not do this service if you have any of the following conditions:

epilepsy  •  pregnancy  •  active cancer  •   photosensitivity

FAQs

Does red light technology interfere with implants (metal, silicone, etc.)?

Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using red light therapy

What’s the difference between low laser level therapy and red light therapy?

Studies have shown that lasers and LEDs can have very similar effects depending on the intensity. Think of an LED Light Therapy bed as  having broad systemic benefits, while the laser is better at pinpointing pain and injuries. Together lasers and LED light therapy beds are a powerful combination.

What's so special about the light bed at Sloco?

Irradiance is the intensity of light as measured ‘on the skin’ in mw/cm2 units of power.  Distance measured from the LED to the skin has a profound effect on irradiance.  Dose in LED Light Therapy is a measure of irradiance x time and called a Joule.  Research suggests that 50 Joules per cm2 of energy may be peak dose.  Delivering more energy or too frequently may prove to be less effective for users. The lights simply cannot get much more powerful without slowing the benefit curve through overdosing. ATP RF creates incredible dose and pulse variants that take what are already optimized lighting wavelengths and intensities into higher and higher levels of efficacy.

Is Red Light like UV?

No. UV rays (Ultraviolet light) can cause both eye and skin problems, including skin cancer. Red light is extremely healing to cells, making it a great option if you want to improve skin health.
