All-Inclusive, Semi-Private Yoga in SLO

+6 Per Class, Not Per Row

Sometimes large classes can be overwhelming and intimidating, especially for those who are new to yoga. At SLOCO, our small class sizes allow our teachers to provide assistance with your specific injury, limitation, or special need. With only 6 spots available for class, it truly cultivates a sense community, creating a space where all feel safe, supported, and nurtured.

+Herbal Elixir from our Vitality Bar

Check in 15 minutes before class, and we’ll treat you to a complimentary Naturopathica Herbal Elixir. This special blend of remedy tea, fortified honey and herbal tinctures help reduce stress while restoring strength and vitality.

+Bring the SPA into Yoga

Yoga in the spa setting includes extra attention to details that will truly make you feel pampered. We believe that the quicker you can get relaxed before your practice, the more you’re going to get from the class. When you come to each yoga class at SLOCO, you will experience steam towel cleansing ritual, practice by candlelight, calm the mind with aromatherapy and feel refreshed with an herb infused towel during savasana.

+All Inclusive

No more scrambling for a spot or lugging your yoga mat around… a MandukaPRO eco-luxury yoga mat and props will be laid out for you, so you can focus on preparing for your yoga practice.

Restorative Yoga by Candlelight

SLOCO’s restorative candlelight yoga in San Luis Obispo uses a series of postures (asanas), deep breathing and mindfulness to increase strength, flexibility and balance. Because of our small class sizes, we do ask that you call ahead to reserve your mat (although last minute reservations are welcome).

Yoga Etiquette at SLOCO

Arrive Early

We ask that students arrive at least fifteen minutes before class to check in and prepare for class. We encourage new students to arrive extra early to complete an intake assessment, so the teacher can help you with your goals for your practice. At this time students can enjoy a freshly-brewed herbal elixir. Doors lock promptly at the start of class. We will not allow people to enter class after start time for safety and the consideration of our other guests.

Go Easy on the Scents

Come to class au naturel, or if you really would like to smell better without being offensive, please stick to essential oils. Some people can be very sensitive to synthetic frangrances, so show your fellow classmates some respect and leave the perfume at home.

Dress Appropriately

Choose yoga wear that is comfortable, with modest coverage. Trust us, you won’t want to constantly tug at your clothes during yoga class. Layers are welcome, however shirts must always be worn in class. Wearing clothing that fits well is important so that the teacher may see the alignment of your joints to make any necessary adjustments.

Practice Ahimsa

Practicing non-violence (ahimsa in Sanskrit) means coming into the space in a peaceful way. Check the negativity at the door. Being gentle in voice, movement, actions, thought, and attitude shows respect to those who come to yoga for a safe and uplifting environment. You’ll be amazed at how quickly that negativity dissipates, not only during yoga class but other areas of life as well.

Not So Fast!

Remember that savasana is one of the most important elements in bringing your yoga practice to a close. Do not take away this well deserved rest from yourself. Out of respect for your body and the rest of the class, we ask that you please stay for the entire class.

Save Your Spot

With space for only 6 students per class, we ask that you call to reserve your mat in advance! Please know that you will be asked for a credit card to hold your reservation, as we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule your yoga session, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice to avoid any charges and allow other students to claim a mat.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm completely new to yoga. Is this class for me?

Yes, this class will focus on the foundations of yoga and is suitable for beginners. Safe variations will be offered for all practitioners and props will be utilized to make poses accessible for all bodies. Yoga truly is a practice and we invite all participants to do only what is possible for that day, and listen to their own inner wisdom. Together we’ll work to build your practice while staying at a level that works for you. The teacher is available before and after class to answer any specific questions that arise.

What should I wear?

The main thing is that you feel comfortable in the clothing! We specifically recommend: footless leggings or shorts and a t-shirt or athletic top. Many students wear an outer layer like a long-sleeve t-shirt and socks for the first and last few minutes of class to keep warm and comfortable. Come prepared to practice with bare feet. Cleanliness and minimal scents will be greatly appreciated by all.

What should I bring?

We’re here to take care of your whole experience and just ask that you bring an open mind to each yoga class. We’ll supply mats, props, water and a refreshing cool towel at the end of class. If you prefer to practice with your own mat and/or water bottle you’re welcome to bring them.

I'm recovering from an injury. Can I still do yoga?

Yoga is a restorative practice and can help the body to recover. Be sure to tell your teacher at the start of class about your injury so they can be sure that you get the most benefit for your recovery. An injury can be a great learning experience. Always feel free to make modifications during class to honor your body and avoid injury.
